Electrophysiology rig

A compact and versatile setup, about the size of a computer's hard-drive case, used for in vitro electrophysiological recordings. This setup allows recording without external electrical interference and with a footprint compatible with standard lab bench tops. Forget old setups that occupy a third of the lab, take weeks to assemble from different sources only to create a cable mess and require experienced scientists! With this evolutionary all-in-one Ephys rig you will save time and space, reduce potential error and damage sources and turn in vitro electrophysiological recordings into a child's game.

The rig could be equipped with exchangeable chambers to accommodate single fiber recordings from skin/muscle, compound action potential recordings (CAP) from whole axons and a combined chamber for simultaneous recordings of single and compiled axonal filaments (single fiber + CAP). This means you could use multiple electrophysiological recording methods on multiple sites along the neuron with just one setup, switching effortlessly from CAP to single-fiber to a combined modus just by switching the upper chambers.

Electrphysiology rig

The rig is portable and compatible with any laptop supporting USB.

It contains:

- Pump for fluid circulation inside the recording chamber.

- A feedback-controlled thermoregulator for the maintenance of constant temperature in the recording chamber.

- Amplifier integrated in the chamber-modules and which are adapted to the respective application.

- A recording suction electrode suitable for single fiber recordings.

- Electrical stimulator for field stimulation of tissues (skin/muscle).

- Chambers available for this rig are 1) single fiber module for skin (e.g. rat/mouse), muscle or meninges. 2) Compound action potential module for whole nerves. 3) Combined module for single axonal filaments and whole nerve bundles (CAP).

* The rig requires an additional data acquisition device which is not supplied
